Summer 2011: Custer State Park

Bumpa and Grandma came to visit us and we took our annual trip to Custer State Park to picnic, then to Wind Cave to look for elk.

Summer 2011: Garage

In the midst of all the fun, we also had a second garage built in the backyard.

Summer 2011: Devils Lake

The first weekend in August, we headed north to spend a long weekend at Devils Lake. Unfortunately, the only pictures I took were when the weather was cold and rainy and we went swimming at a hotel pool in town! It was nice to catch up with some of our friends from ND. We slept in a (very nice) ice house...on dry land. Darin and the boys went fishing several times but only caught small walleyes.

On the way to Devils Lake, we stayed at a hotel in Bismarck with a water park, so by this point of the summer, the boys are having a lot of fun on the slides!

Summer 2011: Angostura

At the end of July, we spent the weekend camping at Angostura with the Rahn and Martz families.

Summer 2011: Sioux Falls

We were off to Sioux Falls in July to visit Bumpa, Blue Grandma and the Huffs. Lots of fun swimming at the hotel, visiting the zoo and Wild Water West. We visited the Falls on Sunday morning before heading for home. Carter even lost a tooth on the drive back to Rapid City!

Summer 2011: 4th of July

Over the 4th of July we camped near Deadwood with some North Dakota friends. We rode the 1880 train for the first time, visited Mt. Rushmore, rode bike and watched fireworks in Rapid City.

Summer 2011: Camping at Hanna campground

In mid-June we camped near Cheyenne Crossing at the Hanna campground. It is a really beautiful area. We spent one afternoon fishing.
